Falling off the Wagon, Getting Back Keto

Well, I’m here to tell you all the truth. I’ve fallen off the wagon. I’ve been eating terribly. I stuck with hard-core Keto for a solid 13 months. I didn’t even stray from this way of eating (besides meal) on vacation. Well, things changed on my boyfriend’s birthday. We had pizza and cupcakes and it’s been hard to stay fully on track since then.

The foods I’m having the most trouble with are the same from my past. Sweets. But I’m a little limited with my peanut butter intolerance I’m developing. If I could eat peanut butter I’d probably be back to my Reese habit. Another issue I’ve been having is my almond and cashew intolerance. I’m going to go to the allergist to make sure I’m not imagining these symptoms. If my allergy is confirmed I’ll be buying some sunflower seed flour. A lot of my keto desserts that kept me on my eating track are almond flour based.

Low Carb Snickerdoodles. Favorite Keto Desert, Can’t eat it now

To get back into the swing of things, I’m going to go strict simple keto. My mornings will be bulletproof coffee. For lunch, ill have a simple Cobb salad. For dinner, meat and a veggie. If I keep it simple, I can’t fail. Fathead pizza was a saving grace so losing almond flour based pizza has been tough. I’m pretty sure I’m allergic to birch pollen and not actual almonds so hopefully, the doctor says I can reintroduce them.

The only positive about falling off the wagon is the fact that my weight is holding steady. I’m off the wagon but I don’t make terrible food choices daily. It’s when laziness and cravings strike. I’m going to get back to where I was. I remember why I started this journey. Diabetes runs in my family and I will not join the list. My health is extremely important to protect so back on board I go!!

Have any of you fallen off the healthy eating wagon? It doesn’t have to be specifically keto. What did you do to get back on the wagon?
